Today I decided To face myself in the mirror - not just glance, not just look - really see me. And I didn't like what I saw at first. My eyes were tired. My lips trembled with unsaid words. My heart felt to small for all the love I was trying to give away. But then, slowly, I started to breathe into the reflection. I whispered, “I am enough”. By acknowledging a fundamental truth, a healthy garden Is tended both above the soil and beneath it. We love the sight of the bright petals, but the real power lies in the unseen roots. The part of the plant that is dark missy. And absolutely essential for grounding and growth. Dismal , we turn our living attention to the unseen roots of our spirit , often called the shadow.

WHAT is the Shadow?

The shadow is not a demonic or evil force. It is simply the name we give to the parts of ourselves that we early in life decided were unacceptable unlovable or inconvenient to the world.

When you were a child, you learned that being angry was bad. So you suppressed your anger, you learned that being loud was disruptive, so you muffled, your joy, you learned that being needy was shameful, so you bear it, your desire for connection, the shadow is the accumulation. Of all these disowned pieces, it is the box of traits you locked away because you feared they would prevent you from being loved. The trouble is that box often holds not just your pain. But also your greatest untapped power, your fierce passion, your boundless creativity, your necessary assertiveness. Why we fear the unseen, our fear of the shadow is really a fear of wholeness we have been taught in spiritual and societal circles to strive only for the light we chase perfection and suppress our flaws, creating an exhausting inner battle. The spiritual truth is that you cannot fully embrace your lights. Until you have acknowledged your darkness whenever you feel an unexplainable surge of Shane's self sabotage or overwhelming judgment to another person that is the shadow knocking on the door asking to be seen. Your goal is not to eliminate the shadow but to integrate it. Integration means moving from. I hate that part of me to that part of me is powerful and I will learn to guide it.
